POPCORN is a dance performance with the impact of a pop concert. An intense test of strength between three male bodies and a live drummer. A visual and musical trip. It all revolves round the irresistible power of the beat. And also of silence.

For this production the choreographer Randi De Vlieghe (Blauwe Storm, ZOO doen ze de dingen etc.) sought the essence of rhythm. He took inspiration from the infinite variety of percussion in every era and culture: from the stamping of warriors’ dances, through flamenco and breakdance to such mega techno festivals as Tomorrowland.

POPCORN is a visual and musical trip where the experience of dance is taken to extremes. To the point where it is not only the dancers who are moving, but perhaps the audience too.
