What is the What is the unlikely tale of Valentino Achak Deng, a young Sudanese boy who has to flee his fatherland from one day to the next. A civil war breaks out and, together with hundreds of other ‘lost boys’, Valentino sets off on a never-ending journey of 1500 km in search of sanctuary. His path is littered with landmines, hungry lions and hostile militias, and the boy is catapulted from one impossible situation to the next.

Dave Eggers is the writer of What is the What, the moving biography of Valentino, and now Simon De Vos brings this literary masterpiece to the stage. Gorges Ocloo performs and Mauro Pawlowski makes live music. Big emotions, social engagement and a critical look at current events.
