Parents, you can’t live with them, but you can’t live without them either. Oei Oei Bevolkingsgroei (Oh dear, Population Growth) is a production about upbringing and stubborn gender role patterns. Who really learns from who and who really wears the trousers/skirt/trouser-skirt here? An absurd toddler performance about a married couple who produce babies quickly with no problem at all, but don’t really know how to bring them up. Yet at the same time they can’t admit to each other or to themselves that they’ve lost control.
