PREMIÈRE
BRONKS / Charlotte Bouckaert
BRONKS creates theatre that doesn’t play it safe. Each season, we make productions that are bold, layered, and not designed to go down easy. Theatre that reflects on the world with a healthy dose of humour. Made by new voices and established names, always for a young audience – whether in age or spirit.
With an average of four (co-)productions per season, we offer a platform for emerging voices, familiar faces, and our in-house companies to create daring and relevant work in the vibrant Brussels context. We collaborate across city and country borders with like-minded – and often delightfully uncompromising – theatres and companies.
Since our very first production – Terugblik misschien by Paul Peyskens (1993) – countless makers, concepts and stories have passed through our house. The performances vary wildly in style and content, but all share the BRONKS DNA: fearless, layered, non-conformist, and laced with humour.
BRONKS productions like De Koning van de Paprikachips, The happy few, Wij/Zij, and Rita (co-produced with Tuning People) have shown that BRONKS theatre can be enjoyed far beyond Brussels and Flanders.
