Claudette is a tribute to old age — a tribute to wrinkles filled with wisdom and experience, a tribute to a whole generation of grandmothers.
Claudette is also an ode to intergenerational connection, to the joyful complicity between grandchildren and grandparents. It tells the story of an elderly woman, stirred to rebellion by her loneliness as she prepares to celebrate her 90th birthday.
It is the story of a grandchild and a tender, dreamy grandmother, weary of being alone and sitting all day, tired of eating soup day after day, longing to feel alive again.
Claudette is a performance that combines juggling and puppetry, seeking to give a voice and visibility to older people.
