Job Vacancy Chef (volunteer or student)

BRONKS is looking for people with a passion for cooking, to help take care of artist catering during our new theatre season. Are you a true foodie? An amateur or master chef who doesn't shy away from cooking for large groups? And do you also have a big heart for theatre? Then we might be looking for you!

Who are we?

BRONKS is the Dutch-language theatre for young audiences in Brussels. With striking productions, BRONKS makes relevant and daring themes discussable for children and youth. In addition to an extensive and willful (school) program, we also organize theatre workshops outside school hours. It's a vibrant plac where people meet and new ideas emerge in collaboration with children and young people. 

Who are you?

  • You are an experienced, enthusiastic cook.  
  • You enjoy cooking vegetarian and/or vegan dishes and consciously choose ecological and local ingredients. 
  • You easily take into account different allergens, dietary preferences and intolerances.    
  • You are available during the day to prepare lunches, but occasionally in the evening or on weekends as well.  
  • We ask for a minimum availability per month. The schedule will be made in consultation.
  • You are stress-resistant and not intimidated by cooking for a large group (20-35 people) by a set time.  

WHat will you do?

  • You take care of the internal artist catering at BRONKS. You come up with tasty seasonal dishs en prepare them autonomously in our BRONKS-kitchen
  • You work closely with the production manager. Based on the number of diners provided and any dietary requierements, you send them your menu and ingredient list by the agreed deadline. The production manager ensures everything is in place for yout to start your preparations right away.
  • After cooking, you help keep the kitchen clean and tidy.  
  • You strictly follow the rules around hygiene and food safety.  

What do we offer?

  • An hourly rate through volunteer allowance or student contract. This covers both the preparatory work (creating the menu and ingredients list) and cooking the meal, as well as cleaning up the kitchen. 
  • Lots of room for your own input and to further sharpen your kitchen skills, within a welcoming team.
  • Free access to all shows and activities at BRONKS.

The introductory meetings will take place during the week of September 7, followed by a cooking test.
